“Open Orchestras has made it possible for our provision to become truly inclusive. It’s central to our work at Bristol Plays Music.” Phil Castang – Hub Leader at Bristol Plays Music
Open Orchestras provides year-round support, enabling your workforce to hone their skills, develop new creative approaches and measure their impact. Our comprehensive training programme comprises four one-day training events, held in accessible regional venues, plus two on-site Supported Delivery sessions for each Open Orchestra. And to measure the impact of Open Orchestras for young people, teachers and music leaders, we provide you with a custom-made Open Orchestras Evaluation Framework.
Training & supported delivery
Open Orchestras training events are spread throughout the academic year, developing staff skills in parallel with the evolution of each orchestra. Designed to equip your workforce with the musical, technical and pedagogical knowledge to deliver high-quality accessible music sessions, our training events also provide a platform for the Community of Practice that grows around Open Orchestras in each region.
Every year we’ll work directly with your Open Orchestras in two Supported Delivery sessions, guiding your staff with 1:1 mentoring from our team of expert practitioners.
Designed in partnership with Special Schools and Music Education Hubs, the Open Orchestras Evaluation Framework provides everything you need to measure effectiveness and demonstrate your impact. And best of all, we process the evaluation data for you, so you can report back to your stakeholders and promote your achievements.
